I purchased a new 1968 Chevelle convertible in October of 1967. Due to a Chevrolet upholstery strike, I could not take delivery of the car until the following April. The car was shipped with a Buick interior identified by Chevrolet as a “Concours” interior. The Chevelle is equipped with high performance 327, 4 speed, positraction, power steering, dual exhaust, am/fm radio, tinted windshield, and rally wheels. The engine came with factory chrome valve covers and an open element air cleaner. I sold the car to my son in 1997 and he kept it for the next eight years. After he purchased a home and started his family, he felt he didn’t have time for the car anymore. We purchased it back from him and it is now back in the garage we have in Iowa. In May of 2010 we had the local Chevrolet dealer repaint the exterior. The interior and convertible top are original. 1987 Pontiac Fiero I also have a ’87 Pontiac Fiero. I purchase the car in Minnesota in 2004 from a private individual who had kept the car in storage. The car was originally a Florida car. It was bright blue in color, but slightly faded. We had it repainted the same blue, because ’87 was the only year that color was offered. It is equipped with a 5-speed, air conditioning, cruise control, sunroof and CD player. I purchased the car as a commuter car because of its remarkable gas mileage. After I retired, I decided to keep the car. Last August Jeanne agreed to drive our ‘87 Fiero to a car show about 60 miles from our summer residence and I drove the Chevelle. She got 1st place in her class, I got 3rd in the convertible class. This is the picture I’ve included. 1988 Fiero Also have a white Fiero you may see me with in here in Florida. |
