| Ever wish you could repair a bad LEAD ACID BATTERY, this is the battery in your car, boat, lawn mower, tractor etc. Within a few months, without being charged, these batteries seem dead. Sometimes the reason they will not accept a charge is because the cell/plates are RUSTED inside the battery causing a short. Now you ask, how do I get inside the battery and de-rust? It's not really very difficult, just go to your local drug store and buy some MAGNESIUM SULFATE (Epsom Salts) and DISTILLED WATER. Drain the dead battery only partially to be able to add 1/2 quart, being very careful as the liquid in batteries will eat most anything except glass. To 1/2 quart of DISTILLED WATER add 10 heaping table spoons of EPSOM SALTS and heat to 150 +/- a few degrees stirring until completely dissolved. Carefully pour this concoction into the dead battery so it does not splash back at you and let the solution do it's job for a couple of days. Now, top off the battery with DISTILLED WATER, fully recharge and check it out. NOTE: a slow charge to full capacity seems to work better, don't know why, just does. This method sometimes works 3 to 5 times with good results until the cell/plates are decayed and destroyed. This process could save you some $$$$ and keep you from buying a new battery.
